How do you determine the best business phone system for your organization? You take a closer look at your needs. We compiled this workbook with the questions our team asks, so you can get a better idea of what matters when you’re discussing your phone system needs.
Before we begin, we have a brief definition of terms: what’s the difference between a standard phone system and what we call Unified Communications.
A standard business phone system can perform the basic functions you would have expected from a phone system 10+ years ago, placing and receiving voice calls, transferring calls, phone trees (auto attendant) and voicemail.
Unified Communications (UC) is a business phone system that comes with the same features as
a standard system, plus features to increase collaboration and mobility for end users. Those features include video conferencing, instant messaging, document sharing, SMS texting, group/team messaging, call center/contact center and more, all wrapped into one system. Users can access the UC system from any device, including their personal mobile device or computer, via an app, so end users aren’t limited to their desk phones for business communications.
