• WHAT IS THE IMI MANDATE? 
  The Postal Service has required an update to all postage meters in the industry. To be compliant, your postage meter must produce an Intelligent Mail Indicia (IMI). 
  
  
• WHY UPDATE TO AN IMI DEVICE? 
  IMI technology supports key objectives for the Postal Service such as improved security, accuracy and customer experience. 
  
  
• WHO DOES THIS AFFECT? 
  Any organization that uses postage meters to send mail and/or packages. 
  
  
• WHY ACT NOW? 
  Any non-compliant postage meters are decertified as of June 30, 2024 and must be withdrawn from service by December 31, 2024. We anticipate a bottleneck of demand as we move closer to 2024. Act now to take advantage of updated features.
